Since 2018, we have engaged 1,100 graduates new to Further Education (FE) teaching and supported 174 and counting… through customised placements – raising the sector’s profile and building a potential pipeline of recruits. Initially delivered as a pilot, the project for the government-backed Education and Training Foundation (ETF) addresses the agency’s key challenge of attracting new and high-quality teaching staff to FE.
Due to the project’s success in promoting FE as a destination career, and overwhelmingly positive feedback from students and providers, the ETF rolled out the pilot nationally – from its original six locations to 340 placements at 77 providers across multiple locations.
